Dr. Alexa Cariello always knew she wanted a career helping animals while building lasting relationships with the families who love them. Originally from Holbrook, New York, she is excited to return home and care for the pets in the community where she grew up.
Dr. Cariello earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine and completed her clinical training at the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine. She is certified in veterinary acupuncture and enjoys integrating acupuncture with traditional veterinary medicine to help improve mobility, manage pain, and enhance quality of life for her patients.
Her professional interests include acupuncture and integrative medicine, behavior, soft tissue surgery, dentistry, preventative care, and client education. She believes that educating owners and working together as a team leads to the best possible outcomes for every patient.
Outside of the hospital, Dr. Cariello enjoys spending time with her rescue dogs, Moose and Maya, CrossFit, exploring Long Island, and continuing to learn through continuing education.
